William Ward 
William was born on May 15th, 1603 in Cantebury, Kent, England. William's father was John Ward and his mother was Marie Hatton. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Ward and Alice Barton; his maternal grandparents were William Hatton and Joan Walworth. He was an only child. He died at the age of 84 on August 10th, 1687 in Marlborough, Middlesex, Massachusetts.General Notes
William Ward was made freeman in 1643; represented Sudbury in the General Court in 1644, and was several years Chairman of the selectmen, as he was in 1660, when he removed from that town. William Ward came in 1639 (according to Pope, he was from Cantebury, Kent, England) with five children (John, Joanna, Obidiah,Richard and Deborah) and with second wife Elizabeth he had Hannah, a. 1639; William, 22 Jan. 1640; Samuel, 24 Sept. 1641; Elizabeth 14 Apr. 1643; Increase, 22 Feb. 1645; Hopestill, 24 Feb. 1646; Eleazer, a. 1649; and Bethia, a. 1658. He settled in Sudbury, Massachussets where he had lands granted to him in 1640. He removed to Marlborough in 1660, and was representative in 1666; was deacon of the church and d. 10 Aug. 1687. He made his will, 6 April the year before and his widow d. 9 Dec. 1700, aged 86.
