Lord of Deeping and Blisworth, he represented the county of Northampton in seven Parliaments between 1299 and 1313. In 1313 he received a pardon from Edward II as a follower of Thomas, Earl of Lancaster, after the death of Piers Gaveston, the King's favorite.
