Azzo I AZZO was born in 0970.  Azzo I AZZO's father was Marchess Alberto II Otberto I Humbert I and his mother was Railando OF CUMO.  His paternal grandparents were Count Alberto Azzo D'ESTE OF LUCCA Otberto I and Railinda DI PIACENZA; his maternal grandfather was Count Wiprand OF CUMO Riprand. He had a brother and a sister, named Adalberto II and Bertha.  He died at the age of 48 in 1018.
