Bertha Margravine of was born on September 21st, 1051 in Mauerienne, Savoy, France.  Bertha Margravine of's father was Otto (Eudes) de Maurienne Count of Turin & Savoy and her mother was Adelaide of Susa.  Her paternal grandparents were Humbert I Count of Savoy and Ancelie von Lenzburg; her maternal grandparents were Ulric Manfredo II Count of Susa Marquis of Turin and Berthe of Este. She had two brothers and a sister, named Pietro de Maurienne Count of, Amadeo II Count of and Adelaide of.  She was the youngest of the four children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Hermann I Count of, Gebhard I Count von and Richwara of.  She died at the age of 36 on December 27th, 1087.
