Robert was born about 1215 in Tattenhall, Chester, Cheshire, England. Robert's father was Thomas Tuchet , of Ashwell & Lee Gomery, Sir and his mother was Elizabeth. His paternal grandparents were Simon Tuchet , of Tackley & Willington, Sir and Pernel (Petronilla) de Cumbrai. He had a brother named Henry. He was the younger of the two children. He died on October 13th, 1248 in Lee Gomery, Shropshire, England.General Notes
ROBERT TUCHET, brother and heir, paid 10 marks relief on 20 November 1242 to obtain his inheritance; and was granted respite of knighthood in 1244. He married Alice and died 13 October 1248. Alice survived him (b). [Complete Peerage XII/2:57, (transcribed by Dave Utzinger)]
(b) He held Lee Gomery and Uppington, Salop, of the Crown by serjeanty and a small holding in the town of Tattenhall, co. Chester. It was stated that 3 ladies had dower in Lee Gomery: presumably they were (1) Robert's mother Elizabeth, (2) Emma, widow of Robert's brother Henry, and (3) Alice, Robert's widow. Robert confirmed to Darley Abbey all the gifts, etc. made by his ancestors, also the grant therto of Simon Tuchet, rector of Mackworth. He himself granted in alms to the Abbey, "cum corpore mea," William, son of Alice of Allestree, his villein, with all his brood (sequela) and the bovate of land which William held.
