Avice Heiress de was born about 1205 in Tanfield, North Ride Yorkshire, England. Avice Heiress de's father was Gernegan de Tanfield. Her paternal grandfather was Hugh de Tanfield. She was an only child. She died after 1284.General Notes
He [Robert Marmion] married Avice, daughter of Gernegan, son of Hugh DE TANFIELD, through whom he obtained Tanfield and several other manors of the Richmond fee. He died probably in 1241, certainly before 23 October 1242. His widow was living in 1284. [Complete Peerage VIII:514-6, (transcribed by Dave Utzinger)]
