Emund II "The Old" Olafson King of was born in 1003 in Uppsala, Sweden.  Emund II "The Old" Olafson King of's father was Olaf III Eriksson King of Sweden and his mother was Astrid of Obotrites.  His paternal grandparents were Erik IV "Victorious" Bjornsson King of Sweden and Sigrid "The Haughty" Storrada; his maternal grandparents were Mieceslas Prince of Obotrites and Sophia. He had two sisters named Astrid of and Ingegard.  He was the youngest of the three children.
