Luitgarde of was born in 1120 in Sulzbach, Oberpfalz, Bavaria. Luitgarde of's father was Berenger I Count of Sulzbach and her mother was Adelaide von Wolfratshausen. Her paternal grandparents were Gebhard II Count von Sulzbach and Irmgard von Rot; her maternal grandparents were Otto II Count Thanning & Ambras & Diessen and Adelaide von Regensburg. She had a brother and three sisters, named Gebhard III Count of, Gertrude von, Mathilde von and Bertha von. She was the second youngest of the five children. She died at the age of 42 in 1162.-
