Joan de was born about 1216 in Liddell, Cumberland, England.  Joan de's father was Nicholas de Stuteville , Lord Cottingham, Sir and her mother was Devorguilla of Galloway.  Her paternal grandparents were Nicholas de Stuteville , Lord of Cottingham and Gunnor d' Aubigny; her maternal grandparents were Roland Lord of Galloway , Constable of Scotland and Elena de Morville.  She was an only child.  She died before April 6th, 1276 in Thetford, Norfolk, England.

‌Joan de and Hugh were married in a religious ceremony before March 29th, 1229 in 1st husband.  They had two sons named Baldwin and Hugh.

‌Joan de and Hugh were married in a religious ceremony in 2nd husband 2nd wife.  They had two sons and a daughter, named Roger, Ralph and Joan.
