Michael de Stourton, who appears in 1199 as a pledge for Ralph Lovel, was in 1242-3 holding Stourton for a fee of 1 knight of Richard Lovel. In 1208 he was a knight; between Nov 1221 and Feb 1222/3 a witness to a charter in favour of Bruton; in Feb 1226/7 he quit-claimed a fee in North Barrow, Somerset, and 10/11 of a fee in Chilcompton, Somerset (both Lovel fees); and in 1223 he was a collector of the fortieth for Wilts.
