Robert de Stafford, who was sheriff of Staffordshire from the 2nd to the end of the 6th year, inclusive, of King Henry II's reign [1156-1161], and in the six years afterwards paid towards the marriage portion of the king's dau. 60 marks for 60 knights' fees. This Robert performed a pilgrimage to Jerusalem, and d. about the year 1176, and was s. by his son, Robert de Stafford.
