Bernard IV de was born in 1117 in Horton, Chipping Sodbury, Gloucestershire, England. Bernard IV de's father was Reginald (Rainald) II de St. Valery , of Beckley. He was an only child. He died at the age of 73 in 1190 in Beckley, Headington, Oxfordshire, England.General Notes

He [Reynold de St. Valery] died probably in 1166-7 and was succeeded by his eldest son Bernard, who in 1166-7 paid a fine for livery of Beckley and Horton. He seems to have died shortly after 1191, and was succeeded by his second son Thomas, who paid a relief in 1191--2.
Bernard IV de and Eleanor (Aenor\Aanor) de were married in a religious ceremony after 1151 in 2nd wife. They had a son and a daughter, named Thomas de and Maude de.

Maude de was born in 1155 in Isleworth, Middlesex, England. She died at the age of 55 in 1210 in Corfe, Windsor, England. She was buried in By starvation, walled up in Corfe Castle ordered by King John.

Thomas de was born about 1157 in St Valery-sur-Somme, Somme, Picardy, France. He died in 1218 in Beckley, Headington, Oxfordshire, England.
Bernard IV de and Matilda (Maud) were married in a religious ceremony in 1st wife. They had a daughter named Laura (Laurette) de.
