William de was born about 1147 in Huntingdonshire, England. William de's father was Simon II de St. Liz , Earl of Huntingdon and his mother was Isabel de Beaumont. His paternal grandparents were Simon I de St. Liz , Earl of Huntingdon and Matilda de Huntingdon; his maternal grandparents were Robert II de Beaumont , 2nd Earl of Leicester and Amice de Montfort. He had a brother and a sister, named Simon III de and Isabel Alice de. He was the youngest of the three children. He died after 1185 in Sculcotes, Yorkshire, England.-
