Henry De was born about 1260 in Segrave, Leicestershire, England.  Henry De's father was Sir Nicholas 1St Baron De Segrave and his mother was Maud De Lucy [Baroness Segrave]. He had three brothers and a sister, named John 2Nd Baron De, Nicholas De, Stephen De and Eleanor De.  He was the third oldest of the five children.
