Joost George was born about 1704 in Bushwick Long Island NY. Joost George's father was Joost (George) Schamp and his mother was Margrietje Lock. His paternal grandparents were Pieter (Pierre) Schamp (Deschamps) and Janntje (De Noorman) Dircks; his maternal grandparents were Claes Hendrickszen Lock and Kniertje Hendricks. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Pieter (Peter), Nicholaes (Claes), Hendrick (Henry), Kniertje, Jannetje (Yanika) (Jane), Christina (Stonchy) and Anmnatje (Hanna). He was the oldest of the eight children. He died in July 1752 in Readington Township NJ.-
