William II de was born about 1240 in Ingmanthorpe, Kirk Deighton, Yorkshire, England.  William II de's father was William I de Ros , MP, Lord of Helmsley, Sir and his mother was Lucy FitzPiers.  His paternal grandparents were Robert de Ros , Lord of Helmsley, Sir Knight and Isabel of Scotland; his maternal grandparents were Piers (Peter) FitzHerbert , Lord of Bladen and Alice FitzRobert de Warkworth. He had a brother and a sister, named Robert IV "1st Baron" de and Lucy de.  He was the youngest of the three children.  He died before May 28th, 1310 in Grey Friars, York, Yorkshire, England.

‌William II de and Eustache were married in a religious ceremony about 1268.  They had three daughters named Lucy de, Isabel de and Ivetta de.
