Hywel ap Rhys

Hywel ap was born about 1085 in Deheubarth, Wales.  Hywel ap's father was Rhys ap Tewdwr , King of Deheubarth and his mother was Catrin verch Iestyn. He had a brother named Llewelyn Ddiriaid ap.  He was the older of the two children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Gruffudd ap, Nest verch and Margred verch.
