Robert de Quincy 
Robert de was born about 1200 in Colne Quincy, Essex, England. Robert de's father was Saier IV de Quincy , 1st Earl of Winchester and his mother was Unknown Mistress. His paternal grandparents were Robert de Quincy , Lord of Buckley and Orabella Countess of Leuchars. He had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Robert de, Roger de, Loretta de, Hawise de and Orabella de. He died in August 1257 in (dspm).General Notes

The mother of Robert de Quincy is rather curious. MCS states he is "3rd son by an unknown mother" (noncommittal as to whether Mistress or Wife, which they generally indicate), and neither MCS nor Burke's Peerage indicate that he is illegitimate, which they do if appropriate. Yet his father's wife Margaret de Beaumont, mother of the elder Robert de Quincy, outlived his father, so an "unknown mother" would have to make him illegitimate, wouldn't it? Maybe MCS was being overly cautious in assigning him a mother, and it really was Margaret de Beaumont--(although why two Robert de Quincys?) Is it possible he is son of the elder Robert de Quincy (the dates would certainly allow for it)?
