Jean I de was born about 1107 in Vendome, Loir-et-Cher, Orleanais/Centre, France. Jean I de's father was Geoffrey IV de Preuilly , Sire de Vendome and his mother was Mathilde de Chateaudun. He had a brother named Geoffrey de. He was the younger of the two children. He died in 1182 in La Charite-sur-Loire, Nievre, Bourgogne, France.General Notes
Jean/John took part in a crusade in Jerusalem in 1180, and died while returning at La Charite sur Loire.
Note: Jean seems to be marrying his neice. I have seen this three other times in this period and area of France. Maybe there is a mistake in the generations someplace.
