Agnes de was born in 1100 in of Poitou, Aquitaine, France.  Agnes de's father was William VII Count of Poitou , IX Duke d'Aquitaine and her mother was Philippa (Maud\Matilda) de Toulouse.  Her paternal grandparents were William VI Guy Count of Poitou , VIII d'Aquitaine and Hildegarde (Audearde) of Burgundy; her maternal grandparents were William IV Count of Toulouse , Duke of Narbonne and Emma de Mortaigne. She had two brothers and a sister, named William VIII Count of, Raimond de and Mahaut de.  She was the second oldest of the four children.
