Mahaut de was born about 1103 in Aquitaine, France.  Mahaut de's father was William VII Count of Poitou IX Duke of Aquitaine and her mother was Maud (Philippa) de Toulouse. She had two brothers and a sister, named William VIII Count of Poitou X Duke of, Raimond de and Agnes de.  She was the youngest of the four children.  She died in 1147.
