Richard was born in Winchester Castle, Hampshire, England.  Richard's father was John I "Lackland" Plantagenet King of England and his mother was Isabella Taillefer de Angouleme.  His paternal grandparents were Henry II "Curt Mantel" King of England and Eleanor of Aquitaine; his maternal grandparents were Aymer (Adhemar) Taillefer de Angouleme and Alice de Courtenay. He had a brother and two sisters, named Henry III Plantagenet King of, Joan and Eleanor. He had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Richard, Hugh XI de, William de, Joan and Alice de.  He died on April 2nd, 1272 in Berkhampstead Castle, Hertfordshire, England.  He was buried on April 13th, 1272 in Hailes Abbey, Gloucestershire, England.

‌Richard and Joan were married in a religious ceremony before 1246 in No Marriage.  They had two sons named Richard de and Walter Plantagenet de.


Richard's fourth family with Beatrice de Valkenberg

‌Richard and Beatrice de were married in a religious ceremony on June 16th, 1269 in 3rd wife.
