Geoffrey was born on September 23rd, 1158 in England.  Geoffrey's father was Henry II "Curt Mantel" King of England and his mother was Eleanor of Aquitaine.  His paternal grandparents were Geoffrey IV Plantagenet , Comte d'Anjou and Maud "The Empress" Princess of England; his maternal grandparents were William VIII Count of Poitou , X Duke d'Aquitaine and Eleanor de Chatellerault. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Richard I "The Lion Hearted" King of, John I "Lackland" Plantagenet King of, Henry "Young King", Matilda Princess of and Eleanor Princess of. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named William I, Agnes Capet Princess of, Marie Capet Princess of and Aleide (Alix) Princess of.  He died at the age of 27 on August 19th, 1186 in Paris, Ile-de-France, France (in a tournament).  He was buried in Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris, Ile-de-France, France.
