Richard de was born about 1170 in Whitby, Yorkshire, England. Richard de's father was Josceline de Louvain , Lord of Petworth and his mother was Agnes de Percy. His paternal grandparents were Godfrey Count of Louvain , Duke of Brabant and Clemence Clementia of Burgundy; his maternal grandparents were William de Percy , Lord of Topcliffe, Sir and Adeliza de Clare. He had a brother and a sister, named Henry de and Maud de Louvain de. He was the youngest of the three children. He died before August 18th, 1244 in Topcliffe, Yorkshire, England.-
