Gervase Paynel , Lord of Dudley 
Gervase was born about 1121 in Dudley Castle, Warwickshire, England. Gervase's father was Ralph Paynel , Lord of Dudley and his mother was Miss de Ferrers , Heiress of Greenham. His maternal grandparents were Robert de Ferrers , 1st Earl of Derby and Hawise de Vitre. He had a sister named Hawise de. He was the older of the two children. He died before September 29th, 1194.General Notes
His [Ralph's] son Gervase, who had succeeded to the honor of Dudley by 1153, also held land in the bailiwick of Le Passeis in Normandy. He m. after Aug 1153, Isabel, daughter of Robert, Earl of Leicester, and widow of Simon de St. Liz II, Earl of Northampton and Huntingdon. He d. before Michaelmas, 1194, when his son Robert having d. in his lifetime, his heir was his nephew Ralph de Somery, son of John de Somery, by his sister Hawise. [Complete Peerage X:320]
