Maud was born about 1188 in Cheverley, Cambridgeshire, Engl. Maud's father was Gilbert PECHE and her mother was Alice maud FITZwalter. Her paternal grandparents were Hamon PECHE and Alice peverell; her maternal grandparents were Walter De CLARE and Maude (Matilda) De LUCY Lady of Diss. She had a brother and two sisters, named Hamon, Joan and Alice. She was the second youngest of the four children.-
