Iorwerth Drwyndwn ap was born about 1129 in Aberffraw Castle, Anglsy, Wales. Iorwerth Drwyndwn ap's father was Owain Gwynedd ap Gruffudd , King of Gwynedd and his mother was Gwladus verch Llywarch. He had three sisters named Gwenllian verch, Margred verch Owain and Gwenllian II verch. He was the second youngest of the four children. He had a half-sister named Angharad verch. He died about 1174.
