General Notes

Epenetus operated the Olney Tavern-Inn in Providence, Rhode Island.  [Olney Decendants by Mrs. Lyle B. WIllowghby.  June 1662 - Epenetus with others, were appointed to get timber out and  frame a bridge, to be built over the Moshassuck River. On February 19th, 1665, he was given Lot #87  in a division of land. In 1666, 76, 84 and 86 he held the position of  Deputy. October 23rd. 1671 he submitted a bill for 8s. ascharges for a  horse committed to his custody by the town. The bill was allowed.  August 14th, 1676 - He was one of those "who staid and went not away"  during the King Phillip's War. He was given a share in the disposition of the Indian captives whose  services were sold for a term of years.  January 27th, 1696 - He and others were granted a lot measuring 40 foot  square, for a school house if they would build in some considerable time.  June3rd, 1698 Epenetus died at the age of 64. His will is alluded to as  in the custody of the Town Clerk.  The town records declare he was buried October, 20th, 1698.???
