Dermont was born in 1020 in Ossory, Ireland. Dermont's father was Earl Tadg MacGilla Patraic Of Kent OF OSSORY. His paternal grandfather was King Gilla- Patrick OF OSSORY. He had a sister named Diborgaill Ingen Taidg. He was the younger of the two children. He died at the age of 45 in 1065.General Notes
