Godwin OF MERCIA 
Godwin was born in 0979 in Barlterley, Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire. Godwin's father was Earl Leofwine of Mercia HWICCAS EALDORMAN and his mother was Countess Alwara OF MERCIA. He had a brother named Leofric III Of Mercia. He was the younger of the two children.
