Robert I "The Magnificent" Duke of was born about 0999 in Rouen, Seine-Inferieure, Normandy, France.  Robert I "The Magnificent" Duke of's father was Richard II "The Good" Duke of Normandy and his mother was Judith of Brittany.  His paternal grandparents were Richard I "The Fearless" Duke of Normandy and Gunnora (Gundra) de Crepon; his maternal grandparents were Conan I Duke of Brittany , Comte de Rennes and Ermengarde d' Anjou. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Richard III Duke of, Mauger Seigneur de, Fresende of, Alice Adelaide of and Judith de.  He was the third oldest of the six children.  He died on July 2nd, 1035 in Nicaea, Bithynia, Turkey (on pilgrimage to Jerusalem).
