Emma of was born in 0986 in Normandy, France.  Emma of's father was Richard I "The Fearless" Duke of Normandy and her mother was Gunnora (Gundra) de Crepon.  Her paternal grandparents were William I "Longsword" Duke of Normandy and Sprota (Sporta) de Sprota de; her maternal grandparents were Herbastus Forester of Arque and Gunnhild Olafsdottir. She had four brothers and a sister, named Richard II "The Good" Duke of, Robert Archbishop of, Geoffrey (Godfrey) d', Mauger Count de and Beatrice de.  She was the youngest of the six children. She had two half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Godfrey FitzRichard Count of, William Hieme Count d', Muriella de, Hawise of and Pappia of.  She died in Winchester Cathedral, Hampshire, England.
