Conrad von was born in 1150 in Groitzsch, Peipzig, Saxony. Conrad von's father was Dedo V Count of Groitsch-Rochlitz and his mother was Mathilde von Heinsberg. His paternal grandparents were Konrad "The Great" Count of Brehna and Luitgarde von Ravenstein; his maternal grandparents were Goswin II Lord of Heinsberg and Aleidis von Sommerschenburg. He had a sister named Agnes von. He was the older of the two children. He died at the age of 60 on May 6th, 1210.-
