Robert de Neville , Sir 
Robert de was born about 1236 in Raby Castle, Durham, England. Robert de's father was Robert 2nd Baron de Neville , Sir and his mother was Unknown First wife. His paternal grandparents were Geoffrey 1st Baron de Neville , Sir and Joan of Monmouth. He was an only child. Robert was the son of Robert and his first wife. Ida might have been his second wife. Robert greatly enhanced the territory of the family by his marriage about 1260 to Mary, elder daughter of Ralph Fitz Ranulph of Middleham.
Henry Drummond states: "In 1271, Robert was caught by friends of the husband of a lady in Craven, who inflicted on him their vengence in a mode intended to prevent forever repetition of this offense. He died from these wounds in the lifetime of his father"
