Hawise (Alice) de was born about 1166 in Moulton, Spalding, Lincolnshire, England.  Hawise (Alice) de's father was Lambert de Multon and her mother was Miss de Briwere.  Her maternal grandfather was Robert de Briwere. She had a brother named Thomas I de.  She was the younger of the two children.
