John de was born about 1338. John de's father was John De MOWBRAY BARON MOWBRAY and his mother was Joan PLANTAGENET. His paternal grandparents were John De MOWBRAY and Aline de BRAOSE; his maternal grandparents were Henry PLANTAGENET EARL OF LANCASTER and Maud de CHAWORTH. He had a brother and two sisters, named John De, Blanche De and Eleanor De. He was the oldest of the four children. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named John De, Margaret, Joan and Genet.-
