JOHN DE MOHUN, son and heir, was a minor at his grandfather's death. His wardship and marriage were granted to Queen Eleanor. He had writ of livery, after doing homage, October 1269. In 1277 he was summoned for military service against Llewelyn, attended musters at Worcester and Carmarthen, and served under the Earl of Lancaster in West Wales. He married Eleanor, daughter of Sir Reynold FITZPIERS. He died 11 June 1279. His widow, who had dower under writ of 18 October 1279, married, 2ndly, William MARTIN [LORD MARTIN], and was living January 1282/3. [Complete Peerage IX:21, (transcribed by Dave Utzinger)]
