HENRY DE MINERS first appears on the Pipe Roll for Herefordshire 1178-80, when Moses the Jew has judgment against him. In 1200 he was due to appear, with Roger of Westbury and others, as witnesses in a suit between Robert of Slipton and Baderon of Blaisdon, but was excused (Curia Regis Roll). In John's reign he gave half a weir in the Severn called Hynewere to the Abbot of Flaxley, the repair of which was later in dispute (Inq. 26 Mar 1270 in Cal. Inq. Misc.; CPR Flaxley Cartulary). He also gave land to the Abbey in memory of his father and his brother (not named), Walter Map and Baderon of Blaisdon being among the witnesses. He recurs as a witness in the Flaxley Cartulary.

Across the Severn, Henry confirmed a grant of land at Hatherley to the infirmary at Winchcomb c. 1200 (Landboc of Winchcomb). In 1204 Roger de Bohun had suit against Henry concerning land at Culkerton (Curia Regis Roll). In 1208/9 Adam Curzon was holding 3 hides in Foxcote of Henry de Miners, and Henry of the Bishop of Worcester (RBW: Testa de Nevill). Not long afterwards Henry gave this land to the Templars for in 1214 the Master summoned him to warrant the land to him. Henry pleaded that he himself had never been fully seised of all the land in question (Curia Regis Roll). In the same year Richard of Bagendon had suit against him concerning the advowson of Bagendon (ib).

In Herefordshire Henry witnessed a sale of land at Breinton to the Cathedral in 1201-03 (Chapter). He paid the aid for the expedition to Ireland in 1210 (Pipe Roll) and in 1211-12 he was holding half a knight's fee of the honour of Brecknock, doubtless in Burghill (RBE). He married AGNES, for her dower was protected when seisin of Westbury on Severn was granted to his heirs (Close Roll). She afterwards married ROGER DE LEYBURN who died 1242-43, and in 1252 she was still holding one-third of the land in Burghill by virtue of her previous marriage (Testa de Nevill). Henry died in 1217 (Close Roll).
