Alice le was born about 1215 in Hockering & Hingham, Norfolk, England. Alice le's father was John le Marshal , of Hingham & Hockering, Sir and her mother was Aline de Rye , Heiress of Hingham & Hockering. Her paternal grandparents were John le Marshal , of Rockley, Sir and Alice; her maternal grandparents were Hubert II de Rye , of Hingham & Hockering and Margaret FitzWilliam. She had two brothers and a sister, named John, William and Sibyl. She was the second youngest of the four children.
