Maud de was born in 1138 in Costow, Wiltshire, England.  Maud de's father was Geoffrey de Mandeville , 1st Earl of Essex and her mother was Rohese de Vere.  Her maternal grandparents were Aubrey II de Vere , Sheriff of London and Alice de Clare. She had two brothers and a sister, named Geoffrey de, William de and Alice de.  She was the second oldest of the four children.


Maud de's first family with Hugh de Boclande , Sir

‌Maud de and Hugh de were married in a religious ceremony about 1154 in Pleshey, Essex, England.  They had a son and a daughter, named William de and Hawise de.


Maud de's second family with Piers de Lutegareshale

‌Maud de and Piers de were married in a religious ceremony about 1160 in 1st husband.  They had a son and a daughter, named Geoffrey and Petronella.
