Margaret was born about 1448 in Currypool, Bridgewater, Somerset, England. Margaret's father was Hugh Malet and her mother was Joan Roynon. Her paternal grandparents were Sir Baldwin Malet and Amicia Lyffe; her maternal grandparents were John Roynon and Joane Longland. She had a brother named Thomas. She was the younger of the two children.General Notes
Many World Connect people have Margaret as a daughter of Hugh Malet & Joan Ronyon. However Burke's Peerage gives a lineage for them that indicates they were too old to be Margaret's parents. Following the lead of some that Hugh was born 1422-1430, I am making Hugh (father of Margaret) a son of Hugh & Joan. Note that the father of the Hugh that married Joan died in 1416 and was born before 1349 because that is when his father died.
