Etienne I "Tete-Hardi" of was born in 1066 in Bourgogue, France.  Etienne I "Tete-Hardi" of's father was William I Count of Burgundy and his mother was Stephenie Etienne de Longwy.  His paternal grandparents were Renaud I Count Palatine Of Burgundy and Judith Princess of Normandy; his maternal grandparents were Adalbert III Duke of Upper Lorraine and Clemence De Foix. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Raymond of, Rainald II Count of, Guy of Burgundy Pope, Eudes of, Ermentrude of, Gisela of, Sibylle, Bertha of, Clemence of and Hugues Archbishop of.  He died in Bourgogue, France.
