William was born about 1220 in Of, Hanslop, Buchinghamshire, England.  William's father was William MAUDUIT Baron/Baron and his mother was Alice De NEWBURG. He had two sisters named Isabel and Briget.  He was the second oldest of the three children.  He died on January 8th, 1268.
