Leopold "The Illustrious" was born in 0931 in Wurzburg, Unterfranken, Bavaria. Leopold "The Illustrious"'s father was Duke Arnulf I "The Bad" OF BAVARIA and his mother was Judith OF FRIULI. He had two brothers named Berthold I and Arnulf. He died at the age of 63 in 0994.General Notes
About 1020 Richard II, Duke of Normandy, places Ralph and hisson Roger, along with others, in charge of the castle ofTillieres to hold it against Odo of Chartres, the Duke'sbrother-in-law, who had revolted. Odo attacked the castle butwas routed and barely escaped with his life.
