John of Luxembourg , King of Bohemia 
John of was born on August 10th, 1296 in Luxemburg. John of's father was Henry VII Count of Luxembourg Holy Roman Emperor and his mother was Marguerite of Brabant. His paternal grandparents were Henry VI Count of Luxembourg and Beatrice d' Avesnes; his maternal grandparents were Jean I Duke of Brabant and Marguerite Princess of France. He was an only child. He died at the age of 50 on August 26th, 1346 in Battle of Crecy, France (fighting against English).General Notes
John, byname John of Luxembourg, of Bohemia (b. 10 Aug 1296, Luxembourg--d. 26 Aug 1346, Crecy, France), King of Bohemia from 1310 until his death, and one of the more popular heroic figures of his day, who campaigned across Europe from Toulouse to Prussia. Bohemia was acquired through the Bohemian princess Elizabeth, who, in exchange for imperial assistance in her attempt to seize the throne of Bohemia from her brother-in-law Henry of Carinthia, offered her hand in marriage to Henry's son John of Luxembourg. Following their marriage on 30 Aug 1310, the couple set out for Bohemia, accompanied by a German-Bohemian army, which captured Prague on 19 Dec 1310, and installed John as King of Bohemia.
