Her paternal grandparents were Siegfried Count of Luxembourg and Hedwig of Nordgau; her maternal grandparents were Herbert I Count of Gleiberg and Irmentrude of Avalgau. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Giselbert I Count of Salm Longwy &, Frederick II Count of, Hermann I von, Irmtrud Judith Countess of and Ogive of.
