Ermisende of was born about 1082 in Trier, Rhineland, Germany.  Ermisende of's father was Conrad I Count of Luxembourg and her mother was Clemence de Poitou.  Her paternal grandfather was Giselbert I Count of Salm Longwy & Luxembourg; her maternal grandparents were William V Count of Poitou and Ermesinde de Longwy. She had a sister named Mathilde of.  She was the younger of the two children. She had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Gerard II Count of, Yolande Von and Judith of.  She died on June 24th, 1143.
