Amaury de was born before 1155 in Lusignan, Vienne, Poitou, France. Amaury de's father was Hugh VIII "Le Brun" Sire de Lusignan and his mother was Bourgogne (Berbone) de Rancon. His paternal grandparents were Hugh VII "Le Brun" de Lusignan and Sarazine (Sarracena) of Armenia; his maternal grandfather was Geoffrey de Rancon , Seigneur de Taillebourg. He had two brothers named Hugh VIII-1\2 "Died Young" de and Geoffrey de. He was the youngest of the three children. He died on April 1st, 1205 in St Jean, Acre, Palestine (poisoned). He was buried in St Sophia, Nicosia, Cyprus.-
