Alice de was born about 1224 in Lusignan, Vienne, Poitou, France. Alice de's father was Hugh X de Lusignan , Count Angouleme\La Marche and her mother was Isabella Taillefer de Angouleme. Her paternal grandparents were Hugh IX de Lusignan , Comte de la Marche and Mathilde (Mahaut) Taillefer de Angouleme; her maternal grandparents were Aymer (Adhemar) Taillefer de Angouleme and Alice de Courtenay. She had two brothers named Hugh XI de and William de. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Henry III Plantagenet King of, Richard, Joan and Eleanor.General Notes
He [John de Warrene] married in August 1247, Alice, uterine sister of the King, being daughter of Hugh (LE BRUN), COUNT OF LA MARCHEand LORD OF LUSIGNAN AND VALENCE, by Isabel, widow of JOHN, KING OF ENGLAND, daughter of Ademar, COUNT OF ANGOUL ME. She died 9 February 1255/6. The Earl died about Michaelmas 1304 at Kennington, near London, and was buried before the high altar at Lewes Priory.
