Gilbert Duke Of was born in 0890 in Reims, Lorraine, France.  Gilbert Duke Of's father was Regnier II Hainault Count of Hainault and his mother was Adelaide of Burgundy. He had a brother named Rainer III Count of.  He was the older of the two children.  He died at the age of 49 in 0939 in Andernach, Rhineland, Prussia.
